Rainbow Wahine to debut "sUHrf City" Uniforms on Saturday

(HONOLULU, HI) The Hawaii Women’s Basketball team held a national fan uniform design contest earlier this season. With the winner getting their creation to be used during a game.

On Saturday the Rainbow Wahine will be unveiling their new “sUHrf City” uniforms. The design being created by Colorado Springs and University of Wyoming student Isaac Daggett.

“I’ve always been really interested in like surfboard esthetic design, right? So with University of Hawaii. I thought of perfect to tied in with the island and that kind of stuff. And then I really wanted it to have a base in previous or current University of Hawaii esthetic,” said Isaac.

The Colorado Springs native beat out 124 other entries in the contest.

The winner was picked by the team and coaching staff, it will also be the first time a Division 1 college will wear the design from a national fan competition.

Isaac is also going to be in attendance on Saturday which is also Beeman’s Bigger Bash. The team rocking the new jerseys, which will be auctioned off, are also trying to break the Hawaii Women’s Basketball attendance record.

UH takes on UC Irvine on Saturday at 7:00pm at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
