LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Gas prices have not gone up or down in the past seven days, according to the latest report from Arkansas AAA.
The Thursday report showed Arkansas gas prices remain stable at an average of $2.64 for a gallon of regular unleaded. Officials said this price is flat compared to seven days ago and a 16 cents per gallon drop compared to a year ago.
In central Arkansas, drivers in the Little Rock / North Little Rock metro are paying below the state average at $2.62 per gallon, one cent up from seven days prior.
Hot Springs is slightly above the state average of $2.66 per gallon, up 2 cents from the prior week. Pine Bluff drivers are paying $2.89 per gallon in the report, which is 2 cents less than a week ago.
The lowest gas price average in the state is in Crawford County in northwest Arkansas, where gas prices are averaging $2.50. The most expensive gasoline in the state is in Lafayette in the state’s south, at $2.95 average.
AAA spokesperson Nick Chabarria said fluctuations can be expected.
“Despite increases in some areas, gas price averages in most parts of the state are at or near their lowest levels of 2024,” Chabarria said. “Drivers can expect to see price fluctuations at the pump as we head toward the end of the year.”
Chabarria added that Arkansas is currently paying the fourth lowest gas price average in the country, where the national average is $3.03 per gallon, led by California in the contiguous U.S. at $4.39 average, and Hawaii at $4.57 per gallon.
