MUCH. AND AS KEVIN JUST MENTIONED TONIGHT, THE SNOW LEAVING A BIT OF A MESS FOR DRIVERS OUT THERE AND NEIGHBORS ACROSS GREATER CINCINNATI NORTHERN KENTUCKY GETTING HIT THE HARDEST. NEWS FIVE’S DAISY KERSHAW HAS BEEN OUT KEEPING AN EYE ON THE CONDITIONS SOUTH OF THE OHIO. SHE JOINS US LIVE. DAISY, WHERE EXACTLY ARE YOU AND WHAT’S IT LOOKING LIKE RIGHT NOW? WELL, CHRIS. YEAH, WE’VE BEEN KIND OF ALL OVER NORTHERN KENTUCKY TONIGHT. RIGHT NOW WE’RE EXPLORING SOME NEIGHBORHOODS IN HEBRON. AND YOU CAN SEE, I MEAN, THIS IS THE STORY. SAME STORY WE’RE SEEING KIND OF EVERYWHERE TONIGHT, SLICK ROADS, SNOW COATING A LOT OF THESE RESIDENTIAL AREAS AS OPPOSED TO THOSE MAIN THOSE MAIN STREETS. BUT NEIGHBORS TONIGHT, DEFINITELY KEEPING A CLOSE EYE NOT ONLY ON THE ROADWAYS BUT THEIR DRIVEWAYS AND THEIR WALKWAYS AS IT CONTINUES TO SNOW HERE. I DRIVE A TRUCK FOR A LIVING, AND I WAS OUT DOING MY USUAL PICKUPS AND DELIVERIES. AS FOR THE ROADS RIGHT NOW IN KENTUCKY, THEY ARE HORRENDOUS. THE SNOW COATING NORTHERN KENTUCKY ROADS, THOUGH MOST OF IT’S ALREADY MELTING SLUSHY STREETS AND SLICK SPOTS ARE STICKING AROUND TONIGHT FROM INTERSTATES AND STATE ROUTES TO RESIDENTIAL AREAS. NEIGHBORS IN UNION TRYING TO STAY AHEAD OF THINGS. I GOT MY PARTNER OUT HELPING ME TONIGHT WITH THE SNOW BECAUSE THE LAST TIME WE WAITED WAY TOO LONG, SO WE TRIED, SHE SAYS. COME ON, WE’RE GOING TO GO GET A JUMP ON IT. MAKING SURE THESE SIDEWALKS ARE SHOVELED. I MEAN, THERE’S PEOPLE OUT HERE ALL THE TIME. DOGS, SMALL CHILDREN, YOU KNOW, MEN AND WOMEN AND THE KIDS FOR THE BUS. SO WE TRY AND MAKE A RUNWAY FOR THEM TO GET TO THE BUS WITHOUT, YOU KNOW, SLIPPING AND FALLING, TRYING TO MAKE IT SAFE FOR AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE. HERE IN BOONE COUNTY, IT’S A TEAM EFFORT. WE HAD CREWS IN ALL DAY TODAY. COUNTY ENGINEER ROBERT FRANKLIN TELLING US THEY’RE KEEPING MULTIPLE SALT TRUCKS OUT ON THE ROADS. WE KEPT ABOUT 12 GUYS OVER WHO WERE OUT PATROLLING ROUTES AND HITTING TROUBLE SPOTS AND MAIN ROUTES. AND CERTAINLY, YOU KNOW, CONNECTIONS BETWEEN SUBDIVISIONS AND THINGS LIKE THAT. AS CREWS WORK HARD TO KEEP STREETS CLEAR, A REMINDER THAT EVERYONE HAS A RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP STREETS SAFE. JUST BE CAREFUL. BE SLOW. THE ROADS ARE PROBABLY WET AND A LITTLE SLUSHY, BUT IF YOU TAKE YOUR TIME, YOU’LL GET WHERE YOU NEED TO GO. REALLY IMPORTANT ADVICE THERE BECAUSE THE ROADS ARE SO SLICK. NO MATTER WHERE YOU’RE TRAVELING IN THE AREA. AND WITH THAT, AS CREWS WORK HARD TONIGHT, MAKE SURE TO GIVE THEM PLENTY OF ROOM. REMINDER THAT THEY MAY HAVE TO MAKE STOPS OR THEY MAY BE SLOWER, SO NOBODY WANTS THEM TO GET HURT OUT THERE ON THE ROADS. REPORTING LIVE FROM OUR STORM TRACKER, DAISY KERSHAW, WLWT
