Three Teens Arrested In Raceland Shooting, Attempted Armed Robbery

RACELAND, La. (WGNO) — Three teenagers have been arrested following an attempted armed robbery that ended in a shooting incident on Thursday, Dec. 5.

According to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, the shooting, which happened in the 100 block of Brooklyn Lane, was reported just after 9:30 p.m.

Detectives say 17-year-old Kayleigh Gregoire, of Houma, and another female reportedly lured a 17-year-old male to the home on the promise of a sexual encounter, but planned to have 18-year-old Payton Scott, of Bayou Blue, and a 16-year-old male rob him instead.

When the 17-year-old arrived, Scott and the 16-year-old allegedly approached him while armed and gunfire was exchanged, resulting in the victim being grazed in the hand by a bullet. He went to a local hospital for treatment and was released.

The female who was reportedly with Gregoire, however, was hit twice in the gunfire and was airlifted to a New Orleans hospital for treatment. She is in critical but stable condition.

Scott and the 16-year-old were charged with attempted armed robbery and use of a firearm in an attempted armed robbery. Scott was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex, in Thibodaux, and the 16-year-old was booked into the Juvenile Justice Facility, in Thibodaux. Scott’s bail was set at $150,000.

Gregoire was also booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex, and is being held on charges of principal to attempted armed robbery and principal to attempted armed robbery with the use of a firearm. Bail is set at $150,000.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
