Transition support available for Delores Taylor Arthur School amid closure

The Delores Taylor Arthur School for Young Men is hosting a series of information sessions amid a closure. The school is set to close on Dec. 31. The following provides information on support sessions for families: Advisors will be available in person at Mahalia Jackson on the following dates: Friday, Dec. 13: 8 a.m.-3 p.m.Saturday, Dec. 14: 9 a.m.-noon Advisors will also be available at Delores Taylor Arthur on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.NOLA Public Schools board member Nolan Marshall Jr. said the school ran into a financial issue, but could not say how the school reached that point or if the financial issue was known before the academic year began. According to officials, the school also dealt with a decrease in enrollment and an increase in the percentage of students in special education.For more information on enrollment click here.
