YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Three people pleaded guilty Monday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court for their roles in a 2023 shooting in Campbell during a family dispute.

Alexander Camacho Mercado, 21, pleaded guilty to a charge of obstructing justice, a third-degree felony, before Judge Anthony D’Apolito. He was sentenced to three years probation. He had served 118 days in the county jail before posting bond.

His father, Alexander Mercado Camacho, 38, and Christian Reyes Moliere, 20, both entered guilty pleas to charges of felonious assault, a second-degree felony; and incite to violence, a third-degree felony.

They were both sentenced to three to four years in prison on those charges.

Cases are still pending against two other defendants.

The charges stem from a Dec. 29, 2023, fight outside a Jean Street apartment in Campbell where a man was shot and a woman was beaten.

Prosecutors said the shooting was part of a family argument.

The incite to violence charges were filed because all the defendants were present at the shooting with guns brandished and they were urging the people who did the actual shooting to pull the trigger.

Mercado Camacho and Reyes Moliere also had an additional nine months tacked on to their sentences after they pleaded guilty to unrelated charges. Both of those charges came from crimes that were committed while they were on bail for the shooting case.

Mercado Camacho pleaded guilty to a third-degree felony charge of child endangering after he was arrested in August by Campbell police. That arrest followed an investigation that began in April after his three-month-old child was taken to a hospital for respiratory distress and it was discovered the child had several broken bones.

The mother of the child was also charged. Her case is still pending.

Reyes Moliere pleaded guilty to third-degree felony counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer after a chase earlier this by Youngstown police. Reports said Reyes Moliere threw a gun out of a car he was driving as it was being chased by police.

As part of his plea agreement, the gun is being forfeited to the Youngstown Police Department.
