Anderson High School will be closed through at least the end of the week due to an electrical malfunction inside the building.The closure began late last week, when the Forest Hills School District announced that Anderson High School will be closed due to ongoing issues with the electrical system. The system malfunction is only affecting Anderson High School, meaning other schools within the district will continue to operate on a normal schedule.In an update on Tuesday, the district said Anderson High School will remain closed through at least Feb. 28.“While our maintenance team and outside electrical contractors have been making significant progress each day, we learned today that the two remaining required inspections will not be able to take place until Friday based on the availability of those companies. We understand that this news is not what anyone was hoping for, but the workers on-site will continue to complete as much of the remaining repairs that can be done prior to those inspections taking place. The district is not permitted to install certain key components or return power to the school and conduct a full building operations check until those inspections are completed,” a post from the district said Tuesday.The school is encouraging students to take advantage of their class office hours and to keep up with optional assignments while the school remains closed.
