A season that saw Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase achieve the rare “receiving triple crown,” ended in some hardware for the 24-year-old.On Thursday, Chase was named the NFL’s FedEx Ground Player of the Year. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen won the FedEx Air Player of the Year award.After the 2024 regular season concluded, Chase led all pass catchers in receptions (127), receiving yards (1,708) and receiving touchdowns (17). Chase became just the fifth player since 1970 to win the receiving triple crown, joining Kupp, Steve Smith Sr. (2005), Sterling Sharpe (1992) and Jerry Rice (1990.)Chase’s 2024 performance comes after a training camp in which he practiced sparingly while his representatives and the Bengals attempted to agree on a long-term deal that would keep Chase in Cincinnati for the foreseeable future.A deal was not reached, however, and Chase ultimately did suit up for the Bengals in Week 1, playing every game on the Bengals’ schedule.
