Mr. Casas has forged a unique path in digital technology education, serving as an instructor at New Opportunities Charter School through the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department since 2022. In this role, he imparts digital technology and computer literacy. Mr. Casas’s commitment to adult education is palpable through his passionate demeanor. Before joining the school full-time, he was a long-term substitute teacher from 2019 to 2020.
Alongside his current teaching role, Mr. Casas has been a computer instructor at Charter Oak Unified School District Adult Education since 2018 and an information technology consultant at PAC Computer Network Consultants since 2010. His association with Plaza de la Raza Child Development Services Inc. since 2023 further underscores his diverse experience and adaptability.
Earlier, Mr. Casas was a computer teacher and robotics coach at Our Lady of Talpa School in Los Angeles from 2018 to 2019, where he created and developed the school computer curriculum, introduced coding principles to the students, and introduced coding principals to the students, and was involved as a member of the school’s FIRST Robotics team.
Outside the classroom, Mr. Casas held significant positions, such as IT systems analyst at Health Right 360 from 2016 to 2018 and IT network specialist at IOTEC (Integrated Office Technology) between 2013 and 2015. Before joining Health Right, he was instrumental as the IT manager and system administrator at Shore Hotel from 2012 to 2013. Mr. Casas also provided desktop support at Yale Chase Equipment and Services between 2010 and 2012, Universal Studios on a contract basis in 2004, OSI Systems in 2003, and Eurostar Inc. between 2002 and 2003. Among other roles, he was an IT system administrator for U.S. VETS (United States Veterans Initiative), a significant nonprofit organization that combats America’s veteran homeless crisis, from 2007 to 2010. His career in this sector dates back to 2001.
Mr. Casas earned a Bachelor of Science in information technology from the University of Phoenix in 2017 and is pursuing a Master of Science on campus. His professional teaching credentials further demonstrate his commitment to education.
Looking ahead, Mr. Casas aspires to work as a full-time teacher at the college level, focusing on computer technologies and certification courses. He attributes his success thus far to his drive to keep moving forward, overcome obstacles, and stay motivated.
