As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Patterson is an experienced environmental scientist who initially spent five years at Professional Contract Services Inc. as an environment, health, and safety specialist. After a brief hiatus, he returned to the organization as an environment, health, and safety manager in 2022. In his role, Mr. Patterson monitors a creek, takes water samples, manages sanitary lines, and conducts annual tests with the help of an assistant. He also inspects underground and aboveground storage tanks, monitors air emissions, hazardous waste, and soil erosion, performs chlorine and chlorine level testing, and performs asbestos and mold testing. A leader in his industry for over five decades, Mr. Patterson is eager to expand his company’s operations to obtain secondary tire and plastic recycling contracts.

Among other noteworthy roles, Mr. Patterson spent over five years as a training specialist for the Great Lakes Water Authority, tasked with training and developing all levels of employees, collaborating with subject matter experts to identify training needs, and developing course materials and instruction for various courses. Moreover, he conducted and facilitated training sessions on Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations. During his time in the military, Mr. Patterson also garnered experience teaching at a chemical school and the U.S. Army Infantry School.

Dedicated to various civic interests, Mr. Patterson has volunteered with several nonprofit and educational organizations, including Meals on Wheels. He is also a mentor and volunteer with the 19th District Veteran’s Court in Dearborn, Michigan, helping veterans reach their goal of sobriety and achieve freedom from drug use by defeating the everyday challenges of post-traumatic stress disorder and self-medicating. Furthermore, Mr. Patterson is the founder of Patterson’s MTC and Recycling LLC (Project LOVE = Learn the Operational Value of your Environment), where he teaches elementary students throughout Detroit how to take care of the environment and help save the planet.

Mr. Patterson honorably served active duty in the U.S. Army, retiring as a captain before entering the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) at the University of Alabama. While in the ROTC, he also simultaneously served in the National Guard. Mr. Patterson graduated from the University of Alabama in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He later returned to college, completing a Master of Science in environmental science from the University of Michigan in 2018. Moreover, Mr. Patterson received credentials as a certified instructor trainer.

In light of his success, Mr. Patterson received a Volunteer Award and several Letters of Appreciation.
