(WSIL) — Every Thursday, we have a segment called ‘Pets of the Week,’ when we share very lovable animals in our area who are currently at shelters, looking for their forever home.
We’ll start this week with a sweet senior cat named Butters. Butters is a male cat, who is called the “whole package” by workers at the Centralia Humane Society. Butters is still playful and has just the right amount of fun. You can call (618)532-0489 at the Centralia Humane Society for more information.
Next, a dog that fits his name, our second pet is John Wayne. This distinguished pooch looks like the masculine kind. He’s a large, 2-year-old male with a great personality. You can find more information about Wayne at the Jefferson County Animal Control at (618)244-8024.
Our next pet is a 1-year-old Staffie mix named Marble. Workers at the Saline County Animal Control say that she is beautiful on the inside and out. She was owner surrendered but it did not involve anything she did. She loves to play in a big yard and is great with other 4-legged friends. Workers say, they believe house training will be a breeze. Marble doesn’t jump up on you either, instead, she patiently waits at your feet for pets. Her adoption fee is $275, but she’s already been DAPPV vaccinated and spayed. She would still need a rabies shot and a microchip before she goes to her new home, but that’s easy. You can call the Saline County Animal Control at (618)833-4915 for more information.
The girl with the pretty face is Chrissy. Just look at how she smiles. She was adopted but had to be returned because she was too energetic for the child in that home. She’s still pretty young, with her estimated sometime around June of this year. She’s sweet and playful, but she can be excitable… something to keep in mind if you’re considering her for adoption. She is a lovable puppy. Her adoption fee is $250, but she’s already been spayed, microchipped, up to date on all of her vaccines and is on heartworm preventative. You can learn more about Chrissy at the PAWS in Anna, IL. You can reach them at (618)833-3647.
Thank you for checking out our pets of the week. We work with these local shelters to try to find forever homes for our furry friends.
