MULLAH, QATAR HEAD AND WIFE LAURA WERE FOUND DEAD IN THEIR HOTEL ROOM ON SATURDAY. MANAGEMENT FOUND THEM THERE AFTER NOBODY ANSWERED THE DOOR FOR HOUSEKEEPING TWO DAYS IN A ROW. BELIZE POLICE SAY THEIR BODIES SHOWED NO SIGNS OF INJURY AND THAT THERE WAS VOMIT NEXT TO EACH FEMALE. THEY SAY GUMMIES AND ALCOHOL WERE RECOVERED FROM THE ROOM. I SPOKE TO A FRIEND OF ALL THREE OF THOSE YOUNG WOMEN WHO TELL ME THAT CAN’T BE TRUE. IT’S VERY FRUSTRATING BECAUSE WHEN YOU HEAR POSSIBLE ODD, AUTOMATICALLY YOU ATTRIBUTE CHARACTERISTICS TO THAT PERSON. BUT THAT COULD BE THE FARTHEST THING FROM THE TRUTH. FROM WHAT I KNOW HER TO BE, THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHERE MEN, WHEN I GRADUATED, SHE DIDN’T WANT ME TO GO TO A PARTY. SHE DIDN’T WANT TO GO WITH ME BECAUSE THERE WOULD BE DRINKING THERE. THAT WAS THE KIND OF PERSON SHE WAS. SO WHEN THEY SAID THAT, IT WAS ODD. I WILL NEVER BELIEVE THAT THAT’S TRUE. AN AUTOPSY IS BEING DONE TODAY IN BELIZE TO FIND THE EXACT CAUSE OF DEATH, ALONG WITH RUNNING A TOXICOLOGY REPORT, THE MEDICAL EXAMINER WILL ALSO LOOK TO SEE IF CARBON MONOXIDE COULD HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE THREE YOUNG WOMEN’S DEATHS. 3 Massachusetts women found dead in hotel room in Belize
Three Massacusetts women, all in their twenties, were found dead in their hotel room in Belize last weekend.On Tuesday, a vigil will be held for Wafae El Arar, 26, Imane Mallah, 24, and Kaoutar Naqqad, 23, after the three women were found dead at a resort in Belize by hotel management after the hotel said nobody answered the door for housekeeping for two days in a row.Police in Belize said their bodies showed no signs of injury, but there was vomit next to each of them.”Their bodies exhibited no signs of injuries,” Belize Police Commissioner Chester Williams said. “Police also saw inside their room what appeared to be vomiting beside each female.”Additionally, police said alcohol and gummies were recovered from their hotel room.However, Hajar El Khalfaoui, a friend of all three young women, spoke with sister station WCVB and said that cannot be true.”It’s very frustrating because when you hear possible OD, automatically you attribute characteristics to that person, but that could be the farthest thing from the truth,” El Khalfaoui said. “When I graduated, Imane didn’t want me to go to a party, she said she didn’t want to go because there would be drinking there. That was the kind of person she was. So when they said that it was OD, I will never believe that was true.”Khalfaoui, who was the closest with Mallah, had known her since she was seven years old. “I love her so much and I’ll never stop loving her, and nobody will be able to replace her,” Khalfaoui said. “Wafae, Imane and Kaoutar were some of the best people I’ve known. They were so loved and cherished in this community. It’s a tragedy; everybody has grown up with these girls. If you hear their names and you hear their story, please make a prayer for them.”Khalfaoui said Mallah was excited to go on the trip to Belize, after having to cancel one last year due to health complications.Mallah’s mother, Zineb Elghilani, said Mallah was “a strong person” who was “always happy, with a smiley face, friendly with people and humble.” The U.S. State Department released a statement, which said, “We are closely monitoring this case and are in touch with and collaborating closely with the local authorities’ investigation into the deaths.”Authorities in Belize said an autopsy is being done Tuesday to find an exact cause of death, along with looking at substances.Additionally, a medical examiner will also look to see if carbon monoxide could have contributed to the three young women’s deaths.
