Kentucky, Indiana bookstore staffers among hundreds to receive holiday bonuses from author James Patterson

Staffers at bookstores in Fort Thomas, Kentucky and Versailles, Indiana are among the 600 booksellers nationwide receiver a $500 holiday bonus from bestselling novelist James Patterson.”Booksellers save lives. Period,” Patterson said in a statement released Tuesday through his publisher, Little, Brown and Company. “I’m happy to be able to acknowledge them and all their hard work this holiday season.”The winners were nominated by co-workers and customers, among others, in his annual bonus giveaway, which began in 2015.Two winners from our area were among the hundreds selected:Betsy Groen, Blue Marble Books, Fort Thomas, Ky.Laura Smart, Novel HeARTs, Versailles, In.”We appreciate Mr. Patterson’s financial generosity as well as his generosity of spirit.
