This event ignited her passion for being a voice for the silenced and led her to establish Women At Risk International as a 501(c)(3) organization in 2006. The organization’s impactful programs had already been making a difference for decades before its official establishment, providing a safe space for wounded women and children to rewrite their life stories.

Throughout her career, Ms. McDonald has received numerous accolades, including the Brilliance Award from West Michigan Woman in 2024, the Liberty Bell Award from a law association, the Certificate Award for Women in History from the Daughters of the American Revolution and the World Trade Award. Additionally, she is a member of Rotary International, further demonstrating her commitment to civic-minded organizations.

Ms. McDonald’s most significant accomplishment has been positively impacting the lives of numerous individuals. She values the transformation she has brought about in people’s lives over monetary wealth or physical achievements.
