SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — It’s a big day for college football fans as the Big 12 Conference released the full 2025 season football schedule which includes the schedules for the Utah Utes and the BYU Cougars.
Notably, fans of the Utah rivalry will want to circle Oct. 18 on their calendars as BYU will host Utah in Provo at LaVell Edwards Stadium. The 2025 edition of the Utah rivalry will be a highly anticipated sequel to their first Big 12 Conference clash where BYU snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 22-21 victory in Salt Lake City.
Both teams will start their 2025 seasons on Saturday, Aug. 30, with BYU hosting Portland State and Utah traveling away against UCLA in a non-conference matchup. Utah’s first home will be a week later, on Sept. 6, when the Utes welcome Cal Poly for its second non-conference game.

The 2025 season will be BYU’s third in the Big 12 Conference and Utah’s second. In 2024, BYU finished strong with an 11-3 overall record while Utah’s inaugural run in the Big 12 ended on a 5-7 overall record.
