The Cincinnati Open has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2025 edition, which is set to be the largest in the tournaments century-and-a-half history.Going from a nine-day tournament to 14, the tournament’s men’s and women’s singles fields have each grown from 56 to 96 players.The 2025 tournament will open on Tuesday, Aug. 5 and run through Monday, Aug. 18.“We view the growth of the Cincinnati Open as a true transformation of the event that will elevate the experience for our fans, players and partners,” said Tournament Director Bob Moran in a press release. “The added days will help players compete at their peak due to additional rest between matches and will give our fans more opportunities to see the world’s top tennis talent in more matches, practices and special experiences across more days on-site.”Qualifying rounds will be played from August 5-6, and will feature 48 players in both the men’s and women’s fields. 12 players from each field will advance to the main draw, which will begin play on Aug. 7. There will be 32 seeded players in the men’s and women’s draws, each with first-round byes.The top-ranked players in the tournament will take the courts on August 9-10, the tournament’s second round.Quarterfinal play will run from August 14-15: The men will split the round over both days while all women’s quarterfinal matches will be played on the 15th.The men’s and women’s semifinals will get their own day: The men on Saturday, Aug. 16 and the women on Sunday, Aug. 17.Both singles championship matches will be played on Monday, Aug. 18.When it comes to the doubles tournament, the starts will be staggered: The women will begin play on Aug. 7, with the men on Aug. 11.Doubles finals, for both men and women, will be played on Sunday, Aug. 17.
