Road conditions are getting better each day as snow plows move to secondary roads and neighborhoods.While major roads, such as interstates, have been drivable since Monday afternoon into the late evening, it’s been tough for smaller communities to clean up roads.Plows have been out non-stop to try to make them safe for drivers. Across Greater Cincinnati, but especially in smaller cities, main roads are looking great. But, when you come to the side streets, it’s a different story, with many of them having been frozen over.WLWT got a front row seat to see what it takes to get roads clean in Bellevue, Kentucky.”The other side of this is, if we don’t get it fixed up today, it’s going to get we’re not going to get it fixed and it’ll it’ll freeze to the street,” explained Dennis Trowbridge, the snow plow crew leader for the city of Bellevue Public Works.Trowbridge says this is by far the worst snowfall he’s seen in his 26 years with city. The difficulty of clearing streets starts when crews can’t fit down the road. Often times, it’s because cars are parked on either side.Trowbridge says there are easy steps you can take to make the job easier, both for him and other plow drivers. “When you clean the cars off, just put it in front or back or on the sidewalk. Don’t put it in the street,” he said. “And also we understand, when you do try and get as close to the curb as you can, especially if you notice snow storms coming.”Trowbridge has been working hard with two other crew members of the past few days.When the storm hit, he pulled a 30-hour day.
