Prosecutor: Dayton man indicted after father’s severed legs were found in bags
A Dayton, Ohio, man has been indicted on new charges after investigators said his father’s severed legs were found inside plastic bags last April.Trotwood police officers were called to the 7500 block of Old Dayton Road for a report of plastic bags in a driveway that appeared to have human legs inside them on April 22, 2024.Through an investigation, investigators determined the body parts were from Edgar Keiter, Sr., of Kettering. The rest of his remains were found in a storage unit in Trotwood.Last May, Edgar Stephen Keiter, 52, the son of the victim, was indicted in connection to the discovery. He was originally indicted on charges of gross abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and theft.On Wednesday, a Montgomery County grand jury indicted Keiter on additional charges in connection to his father’s death.The charges include four counts of aggravated murder, two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of felonious assault, and several counts of grand theft.Edgar Stephen Keiter is in custody at the Montgomery County Jail and is being held on a $500,000 bond. He is set to appear in court on Jan. 30.
