Donald Jr.’s relationship with the 38-year-old influencer blossomed amid a murky timeline with his fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle and Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. A Daily Mail eyewitness caught the president’s eldest son and Anderson enjoying brunch together on Aug. 17 in Palm Beach. “They were definitely on a date. They weren’t exactly making out, but the kisses were romantic, and you could tell they were intimate with each other,” the source claimed. Soon, whispers of their alleged affair spread while Guilfoyle carried on as usual on the campaign trail.

The former couple announced their breakup in mid-December after the election was over and Anderson was ushered into the Trump family fold. Within weeks, there were rumors that she was eyeing an influential role in the White House, hoping to serve on one of Donald Trump’s “community outreach boards or advisory committees,” per the New York Post. But with rumors that Donald Trump wasn’t exactly thrilled about his son’s romantic life taking over the headlines, Anderson reportedly learned what it’s like to date within the Trump family.

“She knows who she is, and is proud of her looks which she flaunts,” a Miami insider told People. “But she understands that she needs to look and act responsible and never overshadow the rest of the family.” Donald Jr.’s relatives have evidently voiced their concerns to him, per Mediaite, noting Anderson’s “alleged reputation for hard partying and a pattern of dating wealthy men in the affluent Florida enclave.” Donald Trump doesn’t want someone from the Miami social scene to affect his time in Washington, D.C.

“Donald Trump does not approve of his son’s association with Bettina,” a source claimed to the media outlet. “Bettina’s presence is seen as a liability rather than an asset.” It isn’t easy being the newest member of the Trump family circle. Plus, there’s the fact that Guilfoyle is still in the picture. She was nominated to be the ambassador of Greece and is considered a “loyal and consistent Trump supporter, and adviser,” per People.

For Anderson, it’s a lesson in family dynamics and learning those boundaries in a very public forum. It doesn’t sound like an easy way to start a romance, but she likely knew what she was signing up for with a Donald Jr. romance.
