(WJET/WFXP) — An Erie man will be spending more than two decades in prison followed by supervised release for leading a large-scale methamphetamine operation that spanned numerous states.
A federal judge sentenced former Erie resident 44-year-old John C. Bisbee to 252 months (21 years) in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, conspiracy to commit money laundering, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
From July 2019 to June 2020, Bisbee’s organization operated primarily in Erie and its surrounding areas, moving dozens of kilograms of meth he got from a supplier in Atlanta to be resold.
When law enforcement raided his home back in 2020, police found two handguns and more than 100 rounds of ammunition and later seized over $305,000 in cash and jewelry.
Bisbee also later admitted to using the money from the drug sales to buy real estate in Erie in an effort to launder the ill-gotten gains.
Bisbee is the second member of the operation to be sentenced after co-defendant Alexis Brolin Jr was sentenced to a 17-year stint in prison in September 2024 who ran operations in the Clearfield PA area.

Bisbee was originally indicted back in August 2024 following an 18-month investigation alongside 37 others who were alleged to be part of the organization
