CROW AGENCY, Mont. – FEMA disaster assistance specialists are visiting Crow Tribe communities to help members apply for assistance following damage from an August 6, 2024 severe storm and straight-line winds.

Crow Tribe members who experienced damage to their homes or property can apply for help with repairs and other needs. FEMA is offering assistance through its Disaster Recovery Center at the Black Lodge Community Center and a traveling Disaster Recovery Center.

The traveling Disaster Recovery Center will start its one-week visit in Pryor at the Pryor Community Center, located at 306 Makpua Avenue. It will be open from Monday, January 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Tuesday through Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Those who have already applied for assistance can visit the Pryor location to check on their application, ask questions, or provide any requested documentation. Additional locations for the traveling Disaster Recovery Center will be announced soon.

The Disaster Recovery Center at the Black Lodge Community Center, located at 6772 Crow River Road, Hardin, Mont., will continue its regular operation from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, excluding Sundays and holidays.

FEMA emphasizes that its assistance is a grant, not a loan, and is available to all Crow Tribe members affected by the storm, regardless of their income, home ownership status, or location. Members are encouraged to speak with a specialist to see if they qualify for help with repairs and other needs.

Additionally, a recovery specialist from the U.S. Small Business Administration will be available to explain their disaster loan program.
