After Monday’s break-in at Joe Burrow’s house, WLWT has learned there’s been a rash of burglaries that are now being investigated by an organized crime task force.Homeowners in Anderson Township and Montgomery told WLWT that the thieves are quick and destructive. They smash a window, grab items of value and are gone within minutes.The night after Thanksgiving, deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home two miles from Burrow’s in Anderson Township.The homeowner shared photos with WLWT that show a back glass door was smashed. She said a bedroom was ransacked.The homeowner said she was just returning from dinner when the alarm company called.Last May in Montgomery, near the Indian Hill border, another homeowner also returned home to find a sliding glass door smashed. Draws were pulled out of nightstands, and personal items were scattered across the floor. These break-ins, along with Burrow’s and more, are being investigated by the Southwest Ohio Burglary Task Force led by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Indian Hill police.BCI won’t say how many burglaries are currently being investigated. They also won’t say if they believe all of the break-ins are connected.WLWT has confirmed two people have been charged in connection to the Montgomery break-in.Luis Ignacio and Damian Ernesto are charged with burglary and possessing criminal tools.According to an email from the prosecutor to the homeowner and court documents, the suspects live in Florida but are originally from Chile.
