The Florence Fire Department says that a home was completely destroyed after being engulfed by flames Saturday morning.First responders were called to the scene on Debbie Drive just after midnight. According to the department, the home was approximately 70% engulfed by flames by the time they had arrived.Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames within 15 minutes due to the relatively small size of the structure. However, it was too late, as the home had already sustained severe damage by the time it was extinguished.The department says that the siding on the house’s neighbors had also partially melted in the fire, with water needing to be sprayed on the siding to cool it off.The frigid temperatures present also provided a minor challenge for firefighters, with unspecified frozen firefighting equipment acting as a temporary hindrance to extinguishing the building.No one was injured.
