Insight explains payroll snag for Trumbull and Hillside

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Pay day was a little worrisome for employees at Insight’s Trumbull and Hillside hospitals.

The new owner had an issue with its payroll system, and workers let WKBN 27 First News know they were concerned with calls into our newsroom.

Insight Health System said that during the process of transitioning to the corporate payroll platform, there was an “unintended error” that impacted payroll for Trumbull and Hillside and resulted in a delay of some paychecks.

“Insight recognizes the critical importance of accuracy and timeliness in payroll processing and is committed to upholding the highest standards. Our team remains fully dedicated to resolving this matter and we are working diligently to get this issue resolved as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the understanding and continued collaboration.”

Insight reported later on Friday that the issue had been resolved and impacted employees began receiving their pay throughout the day on Friday depending on their individual bank.

Insight purchased the facilities in October, providing the local community and leaders a sigh of relief after both hospitals were at risk of closing following Steward Health’s bankruptcy.

The Flint, Michigan-based health care system not only bought both local hospitals but also purchased all of Steward’s operations in Trumbull and Mahoning counties including the Health Center on Elm Road in Bazetta Township and the Urgent Care in Austintown.
