As Middletown-native JD Vance assumes the role of the nation’s vice president, it appears politics may run in the family.Vance’s half brother, Cory Bowman, announced his candidacy for mayor of Cincinnati Tuesday.”Weeks ago, my flight touched down at CVG, returning home from the most monumental inauguration in my generation. When I landed, I knew the city where my family and I live and love cannot fall behind in the critical years ahead,” Bowman said in his announcement posted to Instagram.Bowman, a College Hill resident, said he wants to “provide a choice to the people of Cincinnati.””A choice to see years of prosperity, growth, and joy in our amazing downtown. A population should never be complacent with how things are. They should have the choice to decide their own future,” the post reads.Bowman stated he plans to reveal more details about his campaign in the future. He and his wife, Jordan, are founding pastors of The River Church Cincinnati.Bowman has shown his support for his brother during Vance’s latest campaign as President Donald Trump’s running mate.Bowman attended both the Republican National Convention, where Vance was announced as Trump’s running mate, and the inauguration, where Vance was sworn in. Bowman said on his X account that he has informed Vance and staff regarding the run, but “there is no official response as of now due to short timing.”
