A Kent man is set to appear in BBC show The Apprentice.
Jonathan Heaver, 23, who grew up in Deal, competes against 17 other candidates to win a £250,000 investment in their business and a 50/50 partnership with Lord Alan Sugar.
He stars in the new series of the long-running reality show, which begins this Thursday.
Mr Heaver, now based in Liverpool, runs a tutoring company, Achiever Tutoring.
He set that up while still at university, running a team of 20 on top of keeping up with his studies.
Speaking ahead of the 19th season’s launch, Mr Heaver, known as Jonny, said: “I hope to prove that it is possible to succeed in business while also being compassionate.
“I have learned in my own business that success comes from inspiring those around you to share your goals and beliefs. I hope to bring this approach with me in my tasks with the other candidates.
“I believe I deserve Lord Sugar’s investment. I run a successful company in a massive and growing market.”
During each episode, candidates are split into two teams to perform a business-related task, with the winning group usually securing the highest net profit, and a member of the losing group eliminated.
The contestants are whittled down until a victor is named.
Former Apprentice stars from Kent include Stephanie Affleck, who is from Chislehurst, near Bromley, and made it to the 2022 semi-final, and Kings Hill’s Felipe Alviar-Baquero, who appeared on the show in 2022.
The 19th series of The Apprentice will be shown on BBC One at 9pm every Thursday from January 30 to April 17.
