Two 34-year-old men are facing multiple felony charges after Maricopa police arrested them earlier this week for possessing methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Officers conducted a traffic stop of a 2020 white Kia Optima at John Wayne Parkway and Edison Road at about 1:30 p.m. Jan. 21. During the stop, driver Marcor Farr and passenger Cory Baker gave different accounts of their relationship, where they were coming from and where they were going, according to a probable cause statement.
This led to another officer deploying K9 Karma to conduct “an open air sniff” of the car; she gave a positive alert for narcotics.
Police found a half pound of methamphetamine and cash in a backpack, 25 fentanyl pills in a hidden compartment in the center console, a meth bong and unmarked credit cards inside the car. Police also found straws used to smoke fentanyl in Baker’s pockets, according to police documents.
Farr and Baker were arrested and charged one count each for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of narcotics for sale and transporting dangerous drugs for sale. Baker was also hit with a parole violation charge.
The pair were booked into Pinal County Jail.
