    PITTSBURGH, PA, January 22, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ — Madelyn E. Toliver has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Toliver has established a distinguished career in the field of human resources (HR). She joined a financial institution, based in Pittsburgh, in 2007 as a recruiter for strategic college recruiting. In 2010, she was promoted to her current role of vice president for diversity and inclusion, where she was responsible for establishing, implementing, and evaluating programming for Employee Business Resource Groups to align with the company’s overall diversity and inclusion strategic goals. Additionally, she collaborates with talent acquisition, talent development, and HR business partners to identify dynamic employees for the company. Her efforts extend to building and maintaining community partnerships and leading diversity efforts locally and nationally.

In the midst of her tenure with the Financial Institution, Ms. Toliver also served as an adjunct professor in the School for Social Change at Carlow University in Pittsburgh from 2007 to 2018. Before joining the Financial Institution, Ms. Toliver served as the assistant director of HR for the Pittsburgh Public School District and an HR manager for the Renaissance Hotels chain.

Ms. Toliver earned a Bachelor of Science in communications from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, and also holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Geneva College. She is professionally certified in diversity and inclusion from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, earning her certificate in 2018.

Ms. Toliver’s expertise and commitment have earned her numerous accolades: she was named one of the Top 50 Women Leaders in Pennsylvania by Women We Admire magazine in 2024 and was named among the Top Women in Diversity and Finance by Women of Color Magazine in 2019. In 2018, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity presented her with the Annie C. Singleton Black and Gold Award, the highest honor given from the Gamma Xi Lambda Chapter to a woman for excellence in service, advocacy, leadership and professional endeavors. That same year, the Pennsylvania Diversity Council presented her with its Most Powerful and Influential Women Award.

Ms. Toliver’s civic involvement includes serving on the boards of directors for both the YWCA of Greater Pittsburgh where she chairs the advocacy committee and The Neighborhood Academy, a private school for grades 6 through 12. She also finds time to mentor high school and college students, and adults returning to college to complete their degrees. Outside of her professional life, Ms. Toliver enjoys engaging in church and community activities. She serves as a deacon of her church, and led a women’s conference that hosted 600+ participants for 5 years. Looking ahead, she is committed to enhancing her life-coaching abilities to further empower women and children. She also aspires to finish writing a new book and earn a PhD in the next few years.
