Maidstone bid to start another unbeaten run when they visit struggling Weymouth in National League South tonight.
The promotion-chasing Stones lost for the first time in 19 games at the weekend, beaten 2-0 at mid-table Chesham.
Manager George Elokobi had no complaints with the result, saying the Generals deserved their victory.
The challenge is to put that loss behind them away to the Terras, who are 12 points from safety at the foot of the table.
“It’s about bouncebackability,” said Elokobi, whose side dropped from second to fifth at the weekend.
“It’s about learning from defeats and as a group looking at the dynamics of the team and seeing how we can move forward. More importantly, we’ve got to try and help the players.
“That’s always our point as a management team.”
Maidstone struggled at times on a heavy pitch at Chesham and while Elokobi refused to use that as an excuse, they might face similar conditions at the Bob Lucas Stadium given the time of year.
“You’ve got to learn,” said Elokobi.
“It’s another grass pitch and we have to be ready. It’s a tough place to go. They’re fighting for points, just like everyone else.
“Every game gives you different problems and as a management team we’ll prepare our group right to ensure we leave no stone unturned, and then we go there and we need to show a lot of character.
“It’s going to be another battle, it’s not going to be smooth-sailing football.”
Maidstone will move above Truro and Eastbourne into third place if they avoid defeat tonight.
They could even go top with a win but need leaders Torquay to lose at Slough and Boreham Wood to drop points at home to Hampton.
