Our team played a great game, backed up by an awesome band and support groups. Our fans turned out just like we expected them to.I’ll let each of you formulate your own opinion on the game after you watch it, I for one disagree with the manner in which it was officiated but I’m a bit bias. Congratulations to our opponent none-the-less, enjoy your victory.I would also like to address an issue which happened after the game near Champion Square. As our fans and parents were waiting for the team and support groups, a shooting occurred within feet of them. It is unclear what transpired and who the individuals involved were but officers from FPD and WPSO were immediately on scene and rendered life saving care until paramedics arrived. We turned the scene over to NOPD.I know it was frightening as my own family was there, taking cover behind concrete blocks. Situations such as this can be very traumatic, so parents, sit down and talk with your kids. It’s okay to be upset about it, it’s okay to be fearful and it’s okay to be glad you weren’t injured. All of these things are natrual responses to unnatural circumstances. We got everyone home safe and sound and for that, I give God the glory. I’m proud of our team, I’m proud of our support groups and I’m proud of our fans. You exhibited toughness, resolve class and courage under fire……for that, we are Champions!Love you all, God Bless,Chief Justin Brown”This shooting also happened as thousands were leaving a concert by musician Rod Wave at the Smoothie King Center.
