Recognized for over 40 years of dedication to the fields of engineering and manufacturing, Mr. Wingard has garnered acclaim as a field applications engineering manager at Amphenol Global Interconnect Solutions, one of the largest and most sophisticated interconnect solution manufacturers in the world. In this capacity, he leverages a wealth of expertise in devising effective strategies for addressing power deficiencies, busbar installation, and cable assembly. Active with the organization since 1986, Mr. Wingard served as the company’s director of engineering between 1999 and 2013, during which time he was responsible for high-speed assemblies and the development of small computer system interfaces (SCSI).
Mr. Wingard initially studied mechanical engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1981. Following this accomplishment, he was recruited by Bendix, which eventually merged with Amphenol Global Interconnect Solutions in 1986. Continuing his educational efforts apace, Mr. Wingard received a Master of Business Administration in manufacturing and marketing at Binghamton University in 1992. To remain aware of developments in the field, he has maintained his affiliation with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, as well as the Open Compute Project.
Among his most cherished accomplishments, Mr. Wingard is particularly proud to have represented Amphenol Global Interconnect Solutions on the standards committee that developed SCSI standards, through which he played an instrumental role in driving the design of such assembles as they developed over time. Likewise, he was overjoyed to be recognized for his expertise with an Outstanding Engineering and Commercial Achievement Award from the Amphenol Corporation in 2006.
Mr. Wingard attributes much of his success to the influence of his parents, who laid a solid foundation for his future endeavors. Though they were never able to attend college in their own right, they instilled in him a strident sense of ethical fortitude. Likewise, his enthusiasm for continuing education and taking on new projects has sustained his forward trajectory in the field.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Wingard plans to gradually prepare for retirement, allowing him to turn his attention toward matters close to his heart, including family, traveling the world, and volunteering for a cause he truly believes in.
