The Middletown High School marching band is back home after performing on the national stage!The band returned form Washington D.C. just before midnight Tuesday, capping off their trip to play at the inauguration parade.It was a long ride back from the nation’s capitol. Members of the band say they’ve spent more time on the bus than outside because of the cold!It was a whirlwind trip for the band. They left for D.C. on Sunday morning, played at the inaugural parade in Capitol One Arena after the swearing-in ceremony on Monday and made their return trip Tuesday.”Everyone was super nervous in the beginning, but as we were doing it, it was nerve-wracking and exciting,” said Shy Cole, a member of the Marching Middies. “We’re glad to be able to do all of this.”The band stayed an extra day to do some sightseeing in D.C. Due to temperatures Wednesday morning, the district is on a two-hour delay, so they’re hoping to to catch up on their sleep.
