KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho — A Kootenai County Republican Central Committee (KCRCC) town hall did not go as planned Saturday.
According to KCRCC, multiple people were removed from the town hall meeting due to “an active threat targeting one of the participating legislators.”
KCRCC says after repeated disruptions, the group was asked to leave. At least one individual refused to leave and was forcefully removed from the town hall meeting.
KCRCC added that the group consisted of Democratic Party activists.
“The group vocally cheered any mention of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, erupting in applause and chants, while loudly booing every reference to the Bible or President Donald Trump, drawing sharp rebukes from attendees,” KCRCC posted on Facebook.
The Kootenai County Democrats also posted on Facebook confirming multiple Democrats were forcefully removed from the town hall meeting and at least one person was injured in the process.
A photo posted by KCRCC appears to show a person being dragged from the meeting, though the identity of that person has not yet been confirmed.
“Emotions are running high after this forum. I urge you to support one another and lead with the dignity and resolve that define us,” Kootenai Democrats Chair Evan Koch said.
KCRCC says the disruption appeared “premeditated.” Kootenai County Democrats said the public was invited to interact with their legislators at this town hall.
