(FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office identified on Thursday a suspect in the stabbing death of a Southern California Cal Fire captain and asked for the public’s help in finding her.
The agency said the suspect is 53-year-old Yolanda Marodi, who is also known as Yolanda Olejniczak. The sheriff’s office said that her current location is not known.
She is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs around 166 pounds, and has brown hair.
She is a suspect in the death of Rebecca Marodi, a Cal Fire captain who was found fatally stabbed at her home in the San Diego County community of Ramona on Monday.
Sheriff’s officials had said that they were treating the case as a possible domestic violence incident and indicated that the captain may have known the suspect.
The law enforcement department also released a poster in Spanish with a suspect vehicle description as she’s known to visit Mexico.

Investigators believe Olejniczak is driving a 2013 silver Chevy Equinox with the license plate number 8BQJ420.
The sheriff’s office said that it is working to determine the motivation and circumstances surrounding the homicide. They do not consider Olejniczak armed and dangerous, but people are urged to avoid contact if you see her, instead call 911.

The sheriff’s office said Marodi and Olejniczak were married for a little over two years, according to Rebecca’s family.
Court records obtained by FOX 5 show Olejniczak was convicted of voluntary manslaughter after pleading guilty in a case out of San Bernardino in 2000. She was sentenced to 11 years in prison in 2004 – it’s unclear when she was released.
Now, other heroes are rallying to help Rebecca’s family during this difficult time. The Cal Fire Firefighters San Diego Benevolent Corporation is part of that effort.
“We are the only official 501c3 nonprofit charitable organization that is supporting the family at this time. We’ve been given permission by the family to collect funds on their behalf,” said John Clark, the chief operations officer with the benevolent corporation.
Clark says when tragedy strikes, the support these organizations provide is crucial.
“The department is very limited on how they can help someone who has passed away, they do a great job at helping with funerals and that sort of thing, however, there are still costs that are involved that a public agency just can’t pay for,” Clark said.
