(First InMaricopa) A pedestrian killed on State Route 347 on Thursday was a Goodyear woman whom medical examiners believe committed suicide that night, the examiners told InMaricopa.

State troopers responded to a report of a pedestrian versus vehicle collision in the northbound lanes near Casa Blanca Road at 8:45 p.m., Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesperson Raul Garcia Jr. told InMaricopa yesterday

“The pedestrian was hit by multiple vehicles and was pronounced dead at the scene,” Garcia said.

The Pinal County Medical Examiner’s investigations supervisor, Andre Davis, confirmed the identity of the deceased woman, 45, to InMaricopa today.

A death certificate stated she died of suicide by “multiple blunt impact injuries.”

“Unfortunately, I am unable to share any specifics regarding the circumstances of death at this time,” Davis said.

InMaricopa is choosing to withhold the woman’s name to respect the family’s privacy.

The woman and her partner had posted on Facebook Feb. 12 that they were driving their white Jeep pickup with a loaded bed to Baja California for Valentine’s Day. The couple indicated they would be in Mexico for several weeks.

Maricopa commuter videos showed that same Jeep, with a still loaded bed, at the scene of the fatal crash Thursday night.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call 877-4AZ-TIPS (877-429-8477) or submit a tip online at AZDPS.gov/Tips referencing incident report ID I25011107.
