President Donald Trump is endorsing Cincinnati native Vivek Ramaswamy in his run to be Ohio’s next governor.The endorsement came just hours after Ramaswamy launched his campaign in West Chester Monday.The president posted to his app, Truth Social, stating “I know him well, competed against him and he is something special. He will be a great governor of Ohio and will never let you down and he has my complete and total endorsement.”Ramaswamy, 39, has never held public office but did join the Republican presidential primary field last year, dropping out after the Iowa caucuses. After leaving the race, he was quick to endorse Trump.At 38, Ramaswamy was the youngest person to be a major Republican presidential candidate. Following Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election, Ramaswamy was chosen to co-lead a new Department of Government Efficiency, alongside billionaire Elon Musk, though he left the department shortly after Trump’s inauguration.During his speech launching his campaign on Monday, Ramaswamy shared a few of his campaign promises.”From semiconductor production to nuclear energy, from biotech to bitcoin, to our defense industrial base.
