COMING UP, STEPHEN, THANK YOU. RANDI BACK TO THAT BREAKING NEWS WHERE A CRASH HAS A BUSY ROAD IN FORT MITCHELL SHUT DOWN. THIS IS HAPPENING ON DIXIE HIGHWAY JUST OFF 7175 NEAR THE KROGER AND WLWT NEWS FIVE’S GIACOMO LUCA LIVE THERE NOW. GIACOMO, YOU JUST GOT NEW INFORMATION FROM POLICE. YEAH, THAT’S RIGHT. KELLY. KENTON COUNTY OFFICIALS TELLING US THAT THE SINGLE PERSON INSIDE THAT VEHICLE, THE DRIVER, WAS SERIOUSLY HURT DURING THAT CRASH EARLY THIS MORNING. YOU CAN SEE THE TOW TRUCK JUST NOW ARRIVED WORKING TO CLEAR THIS CRASH THAT REALLY HAS THIS PORTION OF DIXIE HIGHWAY SHUT DOWN NEAR THE KROGER NEAR THE KROGER GAS STATION. AS FOLKS ARE GETTING ON TO THAT 75 NORTHBOUND ON RAMP. THIS IS REALLY HAD IT SHUT DOWN FOR ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO. WE KNOW THAT AN AMBULANCE HAD ARRIVED TO THE SCENE, AND WAS TAKING OFF JUST AS AS WE ARRIVED HERE. WE HAD BEEN TOLD ALSO THAT A MEDEVAC FLIGHT WAS REQUESTED, BUT HAD TO BE CALLED OFF DUE TO THE WEATHER. RIGHT NOW, OFFICIALS HAVE CLEANED UP MOST OF THE SCENE. THERE WAS A BIT OF DEBRIS IN THAT NORTHBOUND LANE. AS YOU WERE GETTING CLOSER TO APPROACHING THAT ON RAMP, BUT OFFICIALS CLEANED THAT UP. STILL WORKING TO GET SOME MORE INFORMATION ON WHAT MAY HAVE LED TO THIS CRASH SO FAR. OFFICIALS JUST SAYING SINGLE CAR INVOLVED. THAT’S WHAT WE’VE LEARNED EARLY THIS MORNING. Dixie Highway has reopened in both directions after a car near Interstate 75 in Fort Mitchell, according to police.The road reopened around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday.The crash occurred just after 4 a.m., near the entrance to the Kroger on Dixie Hwy and the I-75 northbound exit.The driver of the crashed vehicle was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. An Air Care unit was requested, but it was canceled due to the weather. Sharing brings us closer together.
