SANTAQUIN, Utah (ABC4) — The Santaquin City Police Department is selling hats, hoodies, and T-shirts as part of a fundraiser to send fallen officer Sergeant Bill Hooser’s family to Washington D.C.
Sgt. Hooser was killed in the line of duty earlier this year leaving behind his spouse of 29 years, two daughters, and one granddaughter. During National Police Week in May 2025, Hooser’s name will engraved on the National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Wall in Washington D.C.
The police department has taken on the role of fundraising to pay for Hooser’s family and coworkers to attend the East Coast event. To do so, they are selling memorabilia at the police department and city hall.

The hats, hoodies, and shirts all share the same custom design that includes Hooser’s name with the city police logo, an outline of the state of Utah, and the scripture Isaiah 6:8 which reads: “Here am I, send me.”
From the fundraiser to the ongoing effort to rename the local post office in Hooser’s honor, Utah communities have rallied behind Hooser and his family since he was allegedly killed by Michael Aaron Jayne.
Jayne has been charged with aggravated murder after allegedly hitting the officer with a semi-truck, and, if convicted, could face the death penalty.
For all inquiries about the fundraiser, contact the police department at 801-754-1070.
