Showers ending. Fog possible Monday morning. More rain chances this week
Any rain should come to an end by early this evening, then fog develops again, followed by more rain chances
DEREK, WHAT ARE WE DOING TOMORROW? MAN? WELL, I’LL BE OFF TOMORROW, ACTUALLY. I KNOW WHAT I’M SAYING. YEAH, TOMORROW AND TUESDAY IS MY PRETTY MUCH MY WEEKEND DAYS HERE. BUT WE ARE TRACKING SHOWERS ACROSS SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA, ESPECIALLY FOR YOU IN THE METRO SUPER BOWL. LOOKING A LITTLE BIT WET HERE TO START. LET’S GET TO WDSU FIRST WARNING DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR. AND YOU CAN SEE IT SPINNING HERE. PICKING UP ON SOME OF THE HEAVY RAIN THAT WE’RE CURRENTLY TRACKING RIGHT NOW FOR YOU DOWN TOWARDS THE METRO. THAT IS WHERE WE’RE SEEING MOST, IF NOT ALL, OF THAT HEAVY RAIN THAT’S CURRENTLY FALLING RIGHT NOW. I WOULD SAY GIVE THE STUFF ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO, AND THEN WE START TO SEE SOME IMPROVEMENTS HERE, AT LEAST SOME DRYING HERE ACROSS THE AREA. BUT NEW ORLEANS EAST ALSO LOOKING AT SOME HEAVY RAIN THAT’S CURRENTLY FALLING HERE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU’RE NEAR MARTELLO CASTLE THAT IS MOVING TOWARDS THE NORTH HERE TOO. LET’S GET DOWN TOWARDS THE BAYOU BECAUSE THAT’S WHERE WE’RE ALSO TRACKING SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS HERE AS WELL. THIS STUFF IS ALSO BEGINNING TO MOVE ITS WAY TOWARDS THE NORTH HERE TOO. WE’RE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF A VERY WARM, MOIST AIR MASS HERE, JUST OUT AHEAD OF THIS COLD FRONT THAT’S CURRENTLY ON ITS WAY DOWN TOWARDS SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA. AND SO WITH THIS FRONTAL BOUNDARY INTERACTING WITH THAT SOUTHERLY WARM, MOIST AIR COMING UP FROM THE GULF, THAT’S WHY WE’RE SEEING SOME OF THOSE SHOWERS HERE BEING GENERATED. MEANWHILE, FINAL TEMPERATURES TODAY FOR NEW ORLEANS, A HIGH OF 77 DEGREES THAT PUT US ABOVE THE AVERAGE OF 65. BUT THE RECORD WAS 82. SO WE WERE NO NOWHERE NEAR AS WARM AS WHERE WE WERE YESTERDAY. THE LOW WAS 68, PUTTING US ALSO ABOVE AVERAGE OF 49 DEGREES. TODAY’S HIGH TEMPERATURES WERE INTO THE LOW TO MID 80S FOR YOU ON THE NORTH SHORE, 70S MAINLY FOR THE SOUTH SHORE HERE TODAY. AND HERE’S WHERE WE STAND RIGHT NOW. STILL INTO THE LOW 80S ON THE NORTH SHORE. WHAT WE’RE SEEING THE 70S RIGHT NOW FOR THE SOUTH SHORE, ESPECIALLY WHERE WE’RE SEEING SOME OF THAT RAIN COOLING DOWN THE TEMPERATURES HERE. AS A MATTER OF FACT, RIGHT NOW, FORECAST FOR TONIGHT. PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES. I’M WATCHING THAT OVERNIGHT FOG POTENTIAL BEGINNING TO DEVELOP MILD TEMPERATURES AS WELL AS OUR LOWS WILL DROP INTO THE UPPER 50S LOW 60S NORTH SHORE AND MID 60S, MAINLY FOR THE SOUTH SHORE. LET’S TALK ABOUT THE DENSE FOG ADVISORY THAT’S GOING INTO EFFECT AGAIN 9 P.M. TONIGHT. AND THEN THROUGH 9 A.M. ON MONDAY. AND THAT’S BECAUSE VISIBILITIES COULD ONCE AGAIN BE REDUCED TO ABOUT A QUARTER OF A MILE OR LESS IN SOME LOCATIONS. MEANWHILE, FOR TOMORROW, AFTER THAT MORNING, FOG LIFTS OUT MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES FOR THE REST OF THE DAY, AND I’M WATCHING FOR A CHANCE OF MORE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES A LITTLE BIT COOLER BEHIND THAT COLD FRONT COMING THROUGH, HIGHS WILL DROP. YOU CAN SEE INTO THE LOW TO MID 70S HERE FOR TOMORROW. FEELING MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE THAN THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS. LOOKING AT THE CLOUD COVER HERE. STILL BEING INFLUENCED ACROSS THE AREA. LOOK AT THE SHOWERS HERE BEING GENERATED HERE AS WELL. THAT WILL PRETTY MUCH CONTINUE HERE. AT LEAST A SLIM CHANCE THROUGH TOMORROW MORNING. AND YOU CAN SEE THAT FOG THERE AS WELL, LIFTING AS WE HEAD TOWARD THE AFTERNOON, BUT STILL LOOKING AT MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES FOR THE REST OF THE DAY HERE. SLIM CHANCES OF A COUPLE OF POP UP SHOWERS. ALSO ON THE WAY POTENTIALLY AS WELL HEADING INTO TUESDAY MORNING, THIS IS OUR PRETTY MUCH OUR LAST DAY OF THAT FOG. WARNING OF THE EARLY MORNING FOG POTENTIAL. AND THEN YOU CAN SEE AS WE HEAD TO THE AFTERNOON HOURS, WE’RE STILL GOING TO BE LOOKING OUT FOR SOME PATCHY, PATCHY CLOUDS. OTHER THAN THAT, THAT SOUTHERLY WIND ALSO HELPING TO KEEP THINGS PRETTY WARM AS WELL. AND YOU CAN SEE THE RAIN HERE MAINLY STAYING NORTH OF US. HERE WE GO AS WE HEAD INTO WEDNESDAY. STILL LOOKING A LITTLE BIT CLOUDY. SLIGHT CHANCE OF A SHOWER. BETTER CHANCE TO STAY OFF TO THE NORTH OF US. BUT I THINK WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN IS THIS IS GOING TO START TO MOVE INTO SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA LATER IN THE DAY ON WEDNESDAY. AND THAT’S WHY OUR RAIN CHANCES WILL GO UP FOR WEDNESDAY. AS A MATTER OF FACT, IN FACT, UP TO ABOUT 60% IS WHAT I’M THINKING RIGHT NOW AS WE HEAD TOWARDS MIDWEEK AND THEN THURSDAY AND FRIDAY, WE DRY OUT PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY HIGH TEMPERATURES, 60S AND LOW 70S, AN
