Structure fire reported on Millbank Row in Maineville
GOOD MORNING. IT IS 6:00 AND I’M TIFFANY WILSON. NOW IN JUST A MOMENT. OUR RICHARD CHILES WILL SHARE HOW LOCAL LEADERS HAVE BEEN PREPARING THE ROADS AND THE PRECAUTIONS THAT DRIVERS SHOULD TAKE DURING THIS STORM. BUT FIRST, METEOROLOGIST ALLISON ROGERS AND ERICA COLLURA ARE TRACKING THE STORM THAT IS HEADING OUR WAY THIS MORNING. SO, ERICA, LET’S BEGIN WITH YOU. WHAT IS THE VERY LATEST THAT WE ARE SEEING? SO RIGHT NOW, TIFFANY, WE’RE NOT SEEING ANYTHING ON RADAR. WE’RE STILL QUIET AS FORECASTED YESTERDAY. WE STAY QUIET THROUGH MUCH OF THE MORNING UNTIL WE GET TO THE AFTERNOON. SO NOT TRACKING ANYTHING ON RADAR RIGHT NOW. TEMPERATURES, THOUGH, ARE BELOW FREEZING AND WE ARE CONTINUING TO TRACK. KIND OF A MESS OF WEATHER AS WE HEAD OFF TO OUR SOUTH AND WEST. I WANTED TO TAKE YOU OUT LIVE TO SAINT LOUIS. ACTUALLY, THIS IS THE GATEWAY ARCH WHERE THEY ARE EXPERIENCING SOME LIGHT SNOW FALLING. YOU CAN SEE LOWERED VISIBILITY THERE AND THEY ARE CONTINUING TO SEE THAT WINTRY PRECIPITATION FROM THE SAME SYSTEM. THAT WILL BRING US THE CHANCE FOR SNOW, SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN. LET ME SHOW YOU THE BIG PICTURE HERE ON SATELLITE AND RADAR. THIS AREA OF LOW PRESSURE STILL HAS A WAYS TO GO, AND WE’RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO WATCH THE IMPACTS FILTER IN, ESPECIALLY THIS AFTERNOON. THAT IS WHY THE NWS, THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE, HAS ISSUED THAT WINTER STORM WARNING. YESTERDAY THEY UPGRADED US TO THAT WARNING YESTERDAY MORNING. AND THAT INCLUDES EVERYBODY BECAUSE WE HAVE SIGNIFICANT SNOW THAT WILL BE FALLING THROUGHOUT THIS AFTERNOON, EVENING AND EVEN THROUGH THE DAY TOMORROW. SO THIS WARNING GOES THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT AND SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN STILL LOOK LIKELY FOR A LOT OF US, ESPECIALLY TO THE SOUTH. TEMPERATURES RIGHT NOW ARE IN THOSE LOWER 20S. FOR CINCINNATI, WE’RE 22 IN INDEPENDENCE, LOWER 20S FOR BROOKVILLE, AND WE’RE AROUND 20 DEGREES FOR WILMINGTON. YOU FACTOR IN JUST A LITTLE BIT OF A WIND. REALLY NOT AS BAD AS YESTERDAY’S TEMPERATURES AND WIND CHILLS, BUT IT FEELS LIKE WE’RE IN THE LOWER TEENS TO MID TEENS IN THE COLDEST SECTIONS. OTHERWISE FEELS CLOSER TO THAT NUMBER THAT YOUR THERMOMETER IS READING. METEOROLOGIST ALLISON ROGERS HAS THE LATEST ON WHAT TO EXPECT OVER THE NEXT 12 TO 24 HOURS. IT’S GOING TO BE A BUSY ONE FOR US HERE, ERICA. IN THE NEXT 12 TO 24 HOURS, I EXPECT TO SEE POTENTIALLY ALL FORMS OF WINTER WEATHER. FOR A LOT OF US THROUGHOUT GREATER CINCINNATI THIS MORNING, AS ERICA MENTIONED, IS STILL GOING TO BE QUIET. FUTURECAST WANTS TO SHOW SOME RETURNS OUT THERE PRETTY EARLY ON THIS MORNING. NOT ACTUALLY GOING TO HAPPEN, BUT WE WILL START TO SEE SNOW FILTERING IN TO OUR FAR SOUTHWESTERN ZONES CLOSER TO ABOUT 10 A.M. THEN WE’LL START TO SEE THAT SNOW LINE MOVING FURTHER AND FURTHER NORTH. I THINK BY LUNCHTIME TODAY, WE WILL HAVE A PRETTY GOOD CHANCE OF A LOT OF THAT SNOW COMING DOWN FOR THE METRO. MIGHT TAKE ANOTHER HOUR OR TWO BEFORE IT REACHES UP TO BUTLER COUNTY, WARREN COUNTY AND CLINTON COUNTY, AND THEN NORTH OF 74. BUT AS WE GET INTO THE HEART OF THIS AFTERNOON, IT IS GOING TO COME DOWN PRETTY HEAVY WITH THAT SNOW ACROSS THE AREA. I EXPECT TO SEE SOME SIGNIFICANT TRAVEL IMPACTS THROUGHOUT THIS AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT, BECAUSE THE SNOW NOT ONLY IS GOING TO COME DOWN HEAVY, BUT WE’LL ALSO START TO SEE A MIXTURE OF SOME SLEET WORKING ITS WAY INTO GREATER CINCINNATI, SOME ICE, A POSSIBILITY THROUGHOUT AREAS OF NORTHERN KENTUCKY. SO THAT LINE IS GOING TO NUDGE FURTHER AND FURTHER TO THE NORTH. AND THIS LINE IS WHAT IS MAKING IT SO DIFFICULT TO NAIL DOWN EXACTLY HOW MUCH SNOW WE WIND UP SEEING, BECAUSE SOME AREAS SEE THAT WARMER AIR. BUT OTHERS DON’T WIND UP SEEING AS MUCH OF THAT WARMER AIR. SO THAT MEANS THAT WE’RE GOING TO SEE MORE SNOW FOR SOME, I THINK, ESPECIALLY FURTHER NORTH, BUT OTHERS ARE GOING TO END UP PICKING UP A LITTLE BIT MORE SLEET, A LITTLE BIT MORE FREEZING RAINFALL. THAT’S GOING TO LEAD TO SOME HIGHER ICE ACCUMULATIONS FOR AREAS OF NORTHERN KENTUCKY. THAT’S WHERE I EXPECT TO SEE MOST OF THE ICE IMPACT HAPPENING. THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN. THE TRANSITION FROM ALL SNOWFALL TO THE SLEET AND TO THE WINTRY MIX SOMETIME THIS EVENING, LIKELY BETWEEN 7 AND 9:00 TONIGHT AND THEN OVERNIGHT. WE ARE STILL SEEING THAT MIXTURE OF SOME SNOWFALL FOR SOME, BUT THEN THE POTENTIAL IS THERE FOR THAT FREEZING RAIN AND THE SLEET TO CONTINUE OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. EVENTUALLY THROUGHOUT THE MORNING TOMORROW WE BEGIN TO SWITCH BACK TO A SNOWFALL FOR EVERYBODY. AND I DO THINK THAT’S GOING TO BE LIGHTER SNOW. BUT STILL WE’RE TALKING ABOUT ADDITIONAL SNOW COMING DOWN ON ROADS THAT ARE ALREADY IMPACTED FROM THE SNOW AND ICE THAT WE SEE HERE THROUGHOUT TODAY. SO THAT WEATHER ALERT DAY FOR TODAY STILL ISSUED THE TIMING OF ALL OF THIS BETWEEN ABOUT TEN AND NOON IS WHEN I EXPECT TO SEE THE SNOW MOVING IN. THE SNOW IS GOING TO BE HEAVIEST THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EARLY EVENING HOURS, AND THEN TONIGHT WE’LL BEGIN TO SEE THAT SWITCH OVER TO MORE OF A SLEET AND MORE OF A FREEZING RAIN. THAT’S WHEN THOSE ICE ACCUMULATIONS ARE GOING TO START TO PILE UP FOR SOME, ESPECIALLY AGAIN SOUTH OF THE 7175 SPLIT. NORTHERN KENTUCKY, YOU’RE GOING TO HEAR ME TALKING ABOUT ICE FOR YOU FOR MOST OF THIS. AND THEN AREAS CLOSER TO I-70. WE’LL BE TALKING ABOUT MOSTLY A SNOWFALL FOR YOU, A FEW EXTRA INCHES OF SNOW COMING DOWN TOMORROW THROUGHOUT THE DAY. SO THESE ARE ACCUMULATIONS BOTH TODAY AND TOMORROW COMBINED ANYWHERE FROM 5 TO 8IN OF SNOW. LOOKING A POSSIBILITY FOR ALONG AND NORTH OF THE OHIO RIVER. SOME SPOTS COULD SEE MORE THAN EIGHT INCHES THOUGH, ESPECIALLY IF YOU WIND UP SEEING ALL SNOWFALL, AND ESPECIALLY IF WE WIND UP SEEING SOME HEAVIER SNOW BANDS, WHICH THERE ARE INDICATIONS THAT SOMEWHERE BETWEEN DAYTON AND CINCINNATI WE SEE SOME HEAVIER BANDS OF SNOW SETTING UP HERE. THAT’S WHO COULD SEE SOME OF THOSE HIGHER TOTALS EIGHT PLUS INCHES, 2 TO 4 FOR NORTH OF FOR SOUTH OF THE 7175 SPLIT. MORE ICE EXPECTED HERE COULD SEE SOME ICE ACCUMULATIONS CLOSER TO A QUARTER OF AN INCH FOR SOME AREAS FAR SOUTH, CLOSER TO I-64. COMING UP IN A LITTLE BIT, WE’LL SHOW YOU WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT. NOT JUST TODAY, NOT JUST TOMORROW, BUT MOVING FORWARD. MO
