This dynamic duo has a firm grip on Palm Beach County's explosive growth

As Palm Beach County was hunkered down and dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, we at The Palm Beach Post started noticing a surge in people moving into the area.

Not long afterward, it became a wave.

We knew this burst in population would have far-reaching effects. We knew we had to adjust, quickly.

So we pulled a no-brainer and asked two of our most experienced reporters in real estate — Alexandra Clough and Kimberly Miller — to form a super duo and double-down on the growth.

And they dove in just in time to report on this mass exodus of people who were triggering a major growth spurt, both in home-buying and business-space expansion. That in turn led to a rash of other projects, from expanded medical facilities to new top-notch restaurants, to private school population increases, and much more.

Alex and Kim have been on every big development, every trend, every big-picture angle. From being on top of downtown West Palm Beach turning into Wall Street South, to celebrities like Guy Fieri buying up properties in the area, to the hopes of the University of Florida planting a downtown graduate school in West Palm, to the deal falling apart and being replaced by Vanderbilt University. They covered every major high-rise approval to every record mansion sale, all the changes to and creations of special business districts, right down to the challenges that older buildings and long-time residents faced in this unprecedented expansion.

Alex and Kim even found the time to help lead our massive special section focussed on this growth, called The Palm Beaching Project.

Alex, who started working at The Post in 1989, focuses on commercial real estate and litigation, business development, law, retail, tourism and economic growth.

Their stories are always spot on; their sources impeccable; their drive unmatched.

So, if you saw what has happened to Palm Beach County’s growth in the past four years, and want to know where this is heading in 2025, read their stories in today’s Post.

You will be informed, educated and entertained by the best.
