Truist Arena at Northern Kentucky University to see new security screening measures
Truist Arena at Northern Kentucky University is implementing new security screening measures, beginning this weekend.The announcement was made Thursday that the arena will begin using OpenGate, a walkthrough security detection system, starting on Saturday, Jan. 4.As part of the new system, guests will not be asked to remove personal items, including belts, wallets, jewelry and keys. Guests will have to remove cameras and phones before being screened.The security measures will also include the presence of uniformed police officers, as well as bag screenings at the entrance of the arena.Truist Arena is the home of the Northern Kentucky Norse men’s and women’s basketball teams. The venue also hosts other events throughout the year, including concerts and comedy shows.
