UPDATE: Missing Maricopa teen found safe

UPDATE: The missing teen was found safe just before 7:30 p.m., according to a Maricopa Police spokesperson. No further information was released.

The Maricopa Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing teen.

Desert Wind Middle School student Kaelyn Hughes, 12, never arrived home. Her mother, Kara Hughes, said Kaelyn was last seen at at the Desert Wind bus pick-up area after school, but her bus driver said she never got on the bus.

Police say she Hughes has a medical condition that may impact her ability to make decisions. Her mother said Kaelyn is on the spectrum.

She was last seen wearing the red and black striped shirt with grey jeans. One pant leg was cut sort.
