It’s only the second day of an off year, but at least one Maricopa politician is proving that we have indeed entered the never-ending election cycle.
Maricopa City Councilman Vincent Manfredi today declared his plans to retain his seat in 2026. He had previously expressed that he was undecided about gunning for a fourth term.
“I was told 11 years ago that if I wanted to be a part of the solution, I should run for office and I did,” he said in the announcement. “I will be running for re-election in 2026 because the job I started is not done.”
What is that job?
State Route “347, economic development, the Industrial Triangle and bringing jobs to Maricopa. Those are jobs that we started, and they’re not finished yet,” the occasionally polarizing councilman told InMaricopa.
Manfredi seeks a fourth-straight four-year term on the council. His first run was successful in 2014 when Mayor Nancy Smith and Vice Mayor Henry Wade also first ran for office.
Manfredi also applied for a seat on the Maricopa Unified School District’s governing board in 2011 and 2012.
Vincent Manfredi is an owner of InMaricopa.
