SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The billboards aren’t new, but — perhaps surprisingly — they are still here.
It’s been approximately seven months since Julia Reagan died, and billboards in tribute to her life remain posted along several busy Utah highways and streets.
Julia Reagan’s name first came into the public spotlight following her death on June 12, 2024, as her family memorialized her with billboard tributes across several states — including Utah, Tennesee, and Indiana.
Her husband is the founder of Reagan Outdoor Advertising, a large billboard company based out of Salt Lake City, explaining the prevelance of the boards.
Reagan died at 81 years old at the University of Utah Hospital after experiencing a medical incident leading to cardiac arrest. Reagan’s husband filed a lawsuit on Feb. 21, 2025, accusing the hospital of negligence leading to Reagan’s “wrongful death.”
According to her obituary, Julia Reagan had a Ph.D. from the University of Utah, was the mother of four children, and was deeply involved in several organizations, including Women’s Legislative Council, National Council of Jewish Women, Children’s Center, and Valley Mental Health.
The obituary described her as an excellent student, mother, and community volunteer whose generosity “knew no bounds.” She loved to travel, having visited all the continents, and was an avid sports fan.
“Julia will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, generosity, and family will continue to inspire all those who knew her,” the obituary reads.
