MORE THAN 30 FRENCH QUARTER RESIDENTS OR RESTAURANTS AND BARS ARE TEAMING UP TO GIVE BACK TO THOSE 14 INNOCENT VICTIMS FAMILIES, AND THEY ARE DOING THAT BY OFFERING DIFFERENT DISHES WITH ALL PROCEEDS FROM THOSE DISHES OR DRINKS GOING TOWARDS A TRAGEDY FUND. BUSINESSES ARE PARTNERING WITH THE LOUISIANA RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION TO GIVE BACK AMID THE DEVASTATING TERROR ATTACK ON BOURBON STREET. ONE OF THE RESTAURANTS PARTICIPATING IN THE NEW YEAR’S DAY TRAGEDY FUND IS GW FINS, THEIR FEATURED ITEM THIS WEEK IS LOBSTER DUMPLINGS AND STARTING ON MONDAY, JANUARY 13TH THROUGH NEXT SUNDAY, JANUARY 19TH, ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS DISH WILL GO TOWARDS THE TRAGEDY FUND FOR VICTIMS FAMILIES. GW FINS EXPECTS TO SELL AT LEAST 500 LOBSTER DUMPLINGS THIS WEEK, WHICH EQUATES TO NEARLY $7,000 FOR THE TRAGEDY FUND. THE OWNER OF GW, FIN, SAYS HE FELT IT WAS IMPORTANT TO BE A PART OF THIS CULINARY TRIBUTE. ALL OF US IN NEW ORLEANS HAVE FELT THE THE DESIRE, THE URGE TO HELP THESE PEOPLE. I MEAN, IT’S SUCH A SAD CIRCUMSTANCE. AND IN MY CASE, ONE OF THE THINGS I WANTED TO EMPHASIZE WAS THAT LOVE ALWAYS DEFEATS HATE. The Louisiana Restaurant Association and Bourbon Street restaurants will hold “Fleur du Coeur: A Culinary Tribute” to support victims and families impacted by the terrorist attack. The culinary tribute starts Monday, Jan. 13 through Sunday, Jan. 19 and all proceeds will go toward the Greater New Orleans Foundation New Year’s Day Tragedy fund.
